The Birth of Public Swimming Club

Night Scene of Yan Kit Pool where PSC used to train

When Tiger Swimming Club became defunct and ceased to operate in October 1959, the enthusiasm of the water polo players did not in any way diminish. Instead, a new chapter for the Tiger Water polo team began at the temporary Gillman Swimming Pool at Gillman Barracks and Yan Kit Swimming Pool. Eventually, the Public Swimming Club (PSC) was registered as a swimming-cum-water polo club in 1961 to participate in the local and overseas activities. Players from the former Tiger Swimming Club continued to train at the Yan Kit Swimming Pool and Gillman Pool under the auspices of the PSC, striving with the same enthusiasm, dedication and purpose. This was how the birth of Public Swimming Club came about.
